Ready to discover the joys of golf? We’re thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of our Get Into Golf coaching program! In addition to our popular beginner sessions, we’re also offering our exciting Academy Membership program, with full details available in our dedicated post.
Beginner Group Lessons
Our Beginner Group Lessons are designed to build your confidence and ability in all areas of the game, all while having fun!
- Start Date: April 2026 (dates decided Jan 26)
- Duration: 5 weeks
- Session Length: 1 hour per session
- Cost: £55
- Class Size: Maximum of 5 people per session
- Equipment: All equipment is provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own clubs.
Session Times:
Mondays (starting 6th April)
• 1:00–2:00pm
• 5:30–6:30pm
Wednesdays (starting 8th April)
• 5:30–6:30pm
Sundays (starting 12th April)
• 11:00am–12:00 noon
• 12:15–1:15pm
Can’t make these dates? Don’t worry! We’ll be running further blocks of sessions throughout the year, so keep an eye out for future opportunities.
Get Into Golf – Academy Membership
A friendly, flexible way for genuine beginners to learn the game, build confidence, and enjoy the course—before stepping into full membership.
What’s Included – Year 1 (£350)
- 12-month membership from your join date with access to:
- Academy (Par 3) course
- Practice facilities: range, putting green, and seasonal practice holes
- 18-hole course: Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri after 2:30pm (1pm in winter), and Sunday roll-up or after 1pm
- 4 x 30-minute private lessons with our PGA Pros. Member-rate lessons thereafter
- 5-day BRS tee booking window (vs. 8 for full members)
- £25 bar credit + 20% off drinks
- Full Clubhouse access + social events
- Meet others at Wednesday (Gents only) and Sunday roll-ups, and Friday Fours
Who Can Join?
- Beginners only – no prior full membership at Meltham or any other club
- Must attend a short on-course assessment with a PGA Pro
- Subject to Club approval
Year 2 Option (£700)
Not ready for full membership? Stay on for a second year. Tee times: Sun–Mon & Wed–Fri from 12 noon.
Path to Full Membership
Academy members can move to 6 or 7 Day Membership without paying the £500 joining fee if they:
- Complete at least 12 months in the Academy with active participation (e.g. lessons, roll-ups, on-course play)
- Apply for full membership immediately after their Academy period (no deferral)
- Are approved by the Executive Committee and, if applying for 7 Day, join the waiting list (with 6 Day access in the meantime)
What You Need to Know
- You can only be an Academy member for a maximum of 24 consecutive months
- Early upgrades (before 12 months) will be treated as new applicants and must pay the full joining fee.
- The Club reserves the right to apply the joining fee if it believes the Academy is being used to bypass the standard joining process.
- Progression is not automatic and is subject to application, assessment, and availability.
