Information for visitors

In common with most other golf clubs Meltham does expect all players and visitors to the clubhouse to observe its dress rules. It is expected that all visitors as well as members will observe "a clean and decent" policy. In particular denim jeans and trainers are not allowed on the course or in the clubhouse. Shorts may be worn by men on the course or in the 19th Bar but not in the lounges or dining room. Mens' caps should not be worn in the clubhouse.

Golf wear is permitted in the lounge at lunchtime, if it is not wet, muddy or dirty. Visitors are expected to change on completion of the golf. Those who have not changed after golf may use the 19th bar only. Golf shoes may be worn at the serving hatch. Please not that the 19th Bar is not a spike bar and golf shoes should be changed before the area is used.

Mobile phones should be switched off in the clubhouse and on the course.  Urgent calls my be made from the side foyer or outside.

Please make sure that all members of your party are aware of dress and mobile phone rules and avoid the embarrassment of some one being refused access to the course of clubhouse.

On Sundays visiting parties may only play 10 holes in the morning and 18 holes in the afternoon. On other days there is no such restriction.

Green fees must be paid to the professional before commencement of play.

The caterer is to be paid for all meals and drinks on the day.

Play should to commence from the first tee only unless other arrangements such as a shotgun start have been made and allotted starting times must be strictly adhered to.

Handicap certificates may be required and players may be refused permission to play if such a certificate cannot be shown to the professional.

The rules of golf etiquette must be observed at all times.

Early in the year, a trolley ban may be in force. Please check with the professional.

We do not have 'ride on' buggies for hire. Visitors may bring their own but must be fully insured and they use them at their own risk. Please contact the professional, who will inform you of problem areas.

Any party falling short of the final confirmed number will be charged the full amount.

Coffee and biscuits, before play, will be provided in the 19th.

The professional and the caterer will be happy to help you with any queries you may have and you should find members friendly and helpful.

We hope you enjoy your day at Meltham.
