Harriett Green-Armytage died on the 28th April and her will allowed her executors to sell the property. The Hall and Heady Fields were put up for sale but not sold.
This was an important sale which covered the whole of the Thick Hollins Estate, comprising of farms, cottages, building land and freehold ground rents.

Lots 1 - 6 were put up as follows :
Lot 1 The Mansion Thick Hollins " 2 Thick Hollins Farm " 3 Shivering or Heady Fields " 4 Gill Birks " 5 Burned Hill " 6 Waithe Close
All were withdrawn unsold at £6,500.
Lots 1 to 5 were then offered separately and again withdrawn. Lot 6, Waithe Close with and area of 29 acres 3 roods and 18 perches, together with two allotments of common land known as Snape Clough, a total area of 168 acres and 32 perches was put up and after some spirited bidding the lot was sold for £1045.
Farm and building land at Meltham and Meltham Mills were put up,
- Golcar Hall Farm realised £400, 2 closes of land known as Far and Near
- Broadland £275, Bent Ley together with the Old Toll House were withdrawn at £340
A close of valuable building land at Harewood Bridge, known as " Toad Hole" was sold for £150. A plot of valuable building land about 4 acres at Green End sold for £507. A plot of building landat Greens End, Green Street, with three cottages a slaughterhouse and outbuildings sold for £455
Freehold ground rents were sold as follows :
